The new Massey Ferguson 6700 S Stage V has won ‘Machine of the Year 2020’ at the recent Agritechnica show in Hanover, Germany, taking out top spot in the mid-power tractor category.
“This award recognises the commitment of everyone at Massey
Ferguson who contribute their skills and experience to create innovative,
cost-effective and easy to operate tractors” explains John Horan, Product Manager for
Massey Ferguson Australia and New Zealand.
The team
of engineers created the concept of the high power, four-cylinder tractors and
was the first to take this up to 200hp.
“The new
MF 6700 S Series takes the concept further. With its compact dimensions,
exceptional power to weight ratio and tightest turning circle, the tractors
combine the highest performance with optimum economy,” he adds.
The new MF 6700 S has
five models ranging from 135hp to 180hp and all of the models are equipped with
Engine Power Management (EPM) which boost power up to 20hp, which at 200hp
makes the MF 6700 S the most powerful four-cylinder in the world.
All MF 6700S Stage V models come with the choice of either Dyna-VT
continuously variable transmission (CVT)
or the new Dyna-6 Super-Eco. This latest version of the well-regarded
semi-powershift enables the tractors to achieve road speeds of up to 40km/hr at
just 1,500rpm, resulting in significant fuel savings.
For any farmer or contractor, keeping costs down is a
crucial part of any business With straightforward servicing that reduces
running costs with long service intervals – 600 hours for the engine and 1800
for the transmission, the MF 6700 S is the ideal work machine. Also fitted is a
new automatic hydraulic tappet adjustment further cuts costs, with the
maintenance-free system not requiring adjustment during service.
Connectivity is crucial for farmers and contractors, with
their tractor essentially acting as their mobile office. Massey Ferguson’s
latest Datatronic 5, 9” touch-screen terminal is standard in the Exclusive
specification and an option on the Efficient models. This easy to use ISOBUS
compatible terminal offers tablet-style operation, enabling operators to access
and change settings quickly and easily.
“We are excited to bring the new range of
Massey Ferguson 6700 S tractors to Australia and New Zealand in 2020, they’re
built for tough conditions and will provide farmers and contractors with the power
they need to get the job done” Horan adds.
